Block preview
This is the block as it will look finished: the seam allowance is added to the cut pieces, not shown here.
Cutting layout
Each fabric is cut separately, so every fabric gets its own sheets. Red #ff0000 at 0.1 pt, millimetre units.
Size
A quarter inch is the quilting standard. Offsetting the finished shape by it reproduces the usual rules: a half-square triangle comes out at finished + ⅞″, a quarter-square at + 1¼″, only exact rather than rounded to the nearest eighth. Leave the dog ears on and the pieces match what a pattern gives you; trim them and the long points come off, which saves fabric but loses the corner you line the pieces up by.
Fabric & cutting
Grain lock only rotates pieces by 180°, so nothing lands on the bias and stretches. Turning it off packs tighter but can pull a block out of square.
